My photography captures the beauty of nature. I subscribe to and advocate principles of ethical field practices in order to promote good stewardship of resources and the well-being of locations and subjects. Through sharing the work I hope to inspire othersí appreciation of the environment and to motivate action toward conservation.
Photography started as a hobby. Working as a scientist in Florida, it was a welcome escape from the confines of a research lab to step outside and capture images of the rich natural world and local creatures that surrounded me. More than thirty years later this hobby has turned into a full-time passion. Over those years I have explored additional genres. I find it rewarding to produce quality images of challenging subjects in adverse conditions.
Iíve had the opportunity to shoot with some of the top nature photographers in the U.S. John Shaw, Art Wolfe, Bryan Peterson, Gary Braasch, David Muench, and Pat Oíhara all provided inspiration and fueled my desire to expand work to include flowers, abstracts, the human form, and macro subjects. Along the way I have won numerous awards in local, regional, and national competitions and have had work published nationally.
